A 62-year-old postmenopausal woman has 8 months of progressive lower abdominal pain, constipation, early satiety, increasing abdominal girth, unintentional weight loss, and new ascites. Pelvic examination shows a firm, irregular, fixed adnexal mass extending above the pelvis. Transvaginal ultrasound shows a large multilocular cystic-solid adnexal mass with papillary projections. CT abdomen/pelvis shows bilateral complex ovarian masses with omental thickening and peritoneal nodularity. She is medically fit for major surgery. What is the most appropriate initial definitive management strategy?
