A 2-day-old male newborn has feeding difficulty and intermittent choking with poor latch. He also has recurrent apneic episodes with oxygen desaturation, worse when supine and improved by prone or side-lying positioning. Examination shows marked micrognathia, glossoptosis, and a U-shaped cleft palate. He is receiving partial nasogastric tube feeds for nutrition. There is suprasternal retraction during spells without stridor. What is the most appropriate next step in management?
