A 28-year-old G2P1 at 33+0 weeks gestation presents to labor and delivery after a sudden gush of clear fluid with ongoing leakage for 4 hours. She has no uterine contractions or vaginal bleeding. Sterile speculum examination shows pooling of fluid and a positive nitrazine test. Fetal heart tracing is reassuring and ultrasound shows cephalic presentation with adequate amniotic fluid.
