A 30-year-old woman (G2P1) at 30 weeks’ gestation presents with sudden-onset heavy, bright-red vaginal bleeding. She reports no abdominal pain or uterine contractions, and fetal movements are normal. She has not had antenatal ultrasound assessing placental location. On examination, the uterus is relaxed and non-tender. Cardiotocography shows a reassuring fetal heart tracing.
