Last updated: February 2026
A 6-year-old boy is brought to clinic for bedwetting at night. He has never been consistently dry overnight. He has no daytime urinary symptoms, constipation, dysuria, or prior urinary tract infections. Development is normal. Physical examination, including abdominal and neurologic examinations, is unremarkable. His older brother had similar symptoms that resolved by age 8. Bedwetting occurs about 4 nights per week. The parents are concerned, but the child is not significantly distressed. What is the most appropriate next step in management?
