A 24-year-old man returns 2 weeks after an uncomplicated open appendectomy for acute appendicitis. He is asymptomatic, and the surgical wounds are healing well. Final histopathology shows a well-differentiated appendiceal neuroendocrine tumor at the base of the appendix, 2.0 cm in greatest diameter, invading the muscularis propria without serosal perforation. The resection margin is close to the caecal wall. Preoperative abdominal ultrasound did not show metastatic disease. What is the most appropriate next step in management?
