She denies weight loss, hematemesis, or melena. Examination shows mild epigastric tenderness without peritonism. Upper endoscopy shows a 1-cm clean-based ulcer in the first part of the duodenum without active bleeding or perforation. Gastric biopsies are positive for Helicobacter pylori.
