A 4-year-old previously healthy boy had rhinorrhea and low-grade fever, then developed a generalized tonic–clonic seizure lasting about 2 minutes. In the ED, he quickly returned to baseline and had a normal neurologic examination. At follow-up, his mother is giving acetaminophen regularly to prevent recurrence and asks what to do if another seizure happens at home.
